Free Website as online reference of Children’s Books

Teaching my son to have his first conception of letters, sounds and colors was one of the sweetest moments in raising a child. I remember purchasing books from the kids section in the bookstore, and choose the ones with the most colorful images. In times that I run out of books to show to my son before his bedtime or during lazy afternoons in the porch, I would draw in a small blackboard and color them well with colored chalk.

I found customizing my own story really fun because I do not just mimic what was already told before, but I get extra creative in pulling up a story from an inspiration that comes up in a snap. Soon, I began making picture books in the mornings when my son was asleep and show the same to him with a new story in the afternoon and before he goes to sleep.

With a full collection of picture books and short children’s stories, I recreated one that can be shown in the computer and seem to slide to another page with a click. My friend showed me Wix.com that offers a technology of building your own free website all by yourself. First thing I asked was how much it would cost, and it was most interesting to prove it was for free!

I was done with my website in a few hours, and the effects animated my picture books not to mention the music that was there to create a storytelling mood. My friend who was a preschool teacher told me that it was an even better way to capture the children’s attention in class. It is a wonderful feeling to have your work seen in the academe. Boy, am I inspired to do more!
